External Blade Inspection
External blade inspections provide valuable information of the conditions of blades, where our autonomous drone enables high-quality and efficient inspections with accurate and consistent results.
- Bladecare conducts fully autonomous inspection using drones, documenting the entire surface of blades using high resolution images.
- Captured data is transferred to a cloud-based platform for analysis by Artificial Intelligence (AI), scanning images and marking anomalies.
- A blade expert examines anomalies detected and creates annotations, defines the type of defect, and classifies the defect.
- Inspection reports containing generic and spatial meta data, defect images, annotations and recommendations for further action are available.
- Complete inspection data can be made available in the cloud-based platform for data analytics and historical reference.
Internal Blade Inspection
Internal blade inspections complement the external blade inspections by provide valuable information of the conditions of internals of the blades, where our rover-based solution enables inspection of blades further out in the blades than conventional methods and documents all areas of the reachable blade section.
- The rover travels along the inside of the blade and captures a 360-degree video and spatial data of the blade internals, as well as recording distance to root.
- One of our experts examines the captured data and identifies anomalies and creates annotations, defining the type of defect, and classifying the defect.Inspection reports containing generic and spatial meta data, defect images and annotations are then compiled into a report.
- Complete inspection data can be made available in the cloud-based platform for data analytics and historical reference.
Lightning Protection System (LPS) Inspection
A TÜV certified method for measuring the resistance of the lightning protection system (LPS) using a robotic arm, ensures that lightning strikes blades at designated sections of the blade and is conducted to ground in a safe manner. Spark gaps, rolling lightning conductors, or carbon brushes can be bridged to create a closed circuit that can be measured.
- The robotic arm is suspended at blade height and measures resistance of the LPS circuit using a low resistance ohmmeter.
- The resistance of the path from individual receptors to blade root or ground is measured for all receptors on a blade.
- Measurements are analysed and findings are documented in an inspection report.
- Complete inspection data can be made available in the cloud-based platform for data analytics and historical reference.
